How does it work?
You have to write an (ordinary) E-Mail enquiry to the Opolis Help Desk (support@opolis.eu) requesting the "De-activation of Your Current Opolis Account". It is absolutely essential that this E-Mail enquiry shall be sent (only!) from the same personal, valid E-Mail Address you previously used to set up your Opolis Account. If you still know your personal Opolis Log In Name, please include it in your enquiry. You will receive in timely manner an E-Mail response to your request by the Opolis Help Desk. Please confirm the de-activation of your Opolis Account by sending another E-Mail to the Opolis Help Desk (support@opolis.eu)
(Both, steps 3. and 4. are required and compulsory to verify the eligibility of your request) After we have received your confirmation, your current Opolis Account will be de-activated:
What are the consequences of an "de-activated" Opolis E-amil Account and what will happen to your "de-activated" User-, Account- and Message data? (In the following section YYMMDDHHMMSS means Year-Month-Day-Hour-Minute-Second)
Opolis Log In Name: Your Log In Name will be changed to removed_YYMMDDHHMMSS_youroldloginname Opolis Password: Your Opolis Password will remain unchanged (hence still be equivalent to your "lost" personal Opolis Password) Opolis Username: Your Opolis User Name (shown to Recipients of your sent Opolis E-Mails) will be changed to: removed_YYMMDDHHMMSS_Your Old User name E-Mail Address: Your Opolis E-Mail Address (shown to Recipients of your sent Opolis E-Mails) will be changed to: removed_YYMMDDHHMMSS_account_@_domain Public Address Book: Your Public Address Book entry cannot be searched for anymore; Recipients of your sent messages or Sender of your received E-Mails will still have access to your Public Address Book entry, but will get an additional information: "This Account was deactivated by the User - please check the Public Address Book for a current Account" Messages you received from other Opolis Users: You will not have any access to your received Opolis E-Mails anymore; you will not even see them. Senders of your received E-Mails will still have full access to these Messages and Attachments, but will see removed_YYMMDDHHMMSS_Your Old User name as Recipient name and removed_YYMMDDHHMMSS_account_@_domain as Recipient E-Mail address. Sender will not be able to resend these messages. If the Sender of such a message selects the Account Information from the Recipient a note will be shown "This Account was deactivated by the User - please check the Public Address Book for a current Account" Messages you sent to other Opolis Users: You will not have any access to your sent Opolis E-Mails anymore; you will not even see them. Recipients of your sent E-Mails will still have full access to these Messages and Attachments, but will see removed_YYMMDDHHMMSS_Your Old User name as Sender name and removed_YYMMDDHHMMSS_account_@_domain as Sender E-Mail address. Furthermore Recipients will not be able to reply to these messages. If the Recipient of such a message selects the Account Information from the Sender a note will be shown "This Account was deactivated by the User - please check the Public Address Book for a current Account". Dynamic Address Book: Your personal Dynamic Adress Book will be empty After de-activation of your current Opolis Account we will mail you a confirmation, which will include your "new" personal Opolis Log In Name for your de-activated Opolis Account. Hence you still have access to your old, de-activated Opolis Account (and all messages) the moment you may remember your lost personal Opolis Password. Even after execution of the "Get me my account back"-function your old message database stays completely intact. You can now create a new Opolis Account (again with your current E-Mail Address) using the standard Opolis Create Account (Setup) procedure (http://www.opolis.eu/OpolisSignUp)
