    A typical E-Mail message - sent via a standard E-Mail application - is no more secure than a postcard sent through the public postal system

    • Messages sent via standard E-Mail applications are not encrypted and therefore not secure
    • Therefore, by using a standard E-Mail application the sender of an E-Mail has to trust the recipient that the message will not be manipulated, misused or forwarded to individuals who should have never received the message

    • Did my message get lost on the way to the recipient?
      • Whilst with most E-Mail applications a sender can only suspect that a message got lost on the path to the recipient - via many interim servers -, after the recipient has actually told or confirmed to the sender that "... your message actually never arrived here ..." - which then may or may not be true ...
